1. The Card and the Parties

The VideoBackedMoney debit card (“Card”) is issued by Sutton Bank, Member FDIC, pursuant to a license from the applicable card network. VideoBackedMoney, Inc. (“VideoBackedMoney,” “VBM,” “we,” or “us”) is a financial technology company and is not a bank.

Each Card is issued under a custodial authorization model:

  • The Sponsor is the primary account holder, financial custodian, and the party subject to identity verification and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • The Recipient is an authorized user permitted by the Sponsor to hold and use the Card subject to platform rules and conditions.

Funds associated with the Card remain under the custodial control of the Sponsor and are not owned by the Recipient.

2. Card Type and Availability

The Card may be issued as:

  • a virtual debit card, available immediately upon issuance, and/or
  • a physical debit card, mailed to an address designated by the Sponsor.

The Card may be used wherever the card network is accepted, subject to available balance and platform restrictions. The Card does not permit credit, overdraft, or borrowing.

3. Use of Funds

The Card may be used only for lawful transactions. The Platform does not restrict lawful categories of spending by default, except where required by law, card network rules, or Sponsor-imposed controls.

The Card may only be used up to the amount of funds available on the associated account.

4. Conditional Access and Automated Controls

Use of the Card is subject to automated, non-discretionary platform controls.

After each authorized transaction, the Card is automatically suspended until the applicable verification requirement is satisfied. Verification typically consists of uploading a short video update documenting the use of the prior funds.

This lock-and-unlock mechanism is an essential condition of participation in the program. By accepting and using the Card, the Recipient acknowledges and agrees that continued access to funds is conditional and may be temporarily restricted.

5. Fees

Fees may be assessed in connection with use of the Card and the Platform, including payment processing and platform operation fees. Current fees are disclosed in the application interface and may include approximately:

  • Platform and processing fees totaling approximately 5%
  • Additional fees for foreign transactions or currency conversion, if applicable

VideoBackedMoney does not charge Recipients directly for participation.

6. Lost, Stolen, or Unauthorized Use

If a Card is lost, stolen, or compromised, it must be reported immediately through the application or by contacting Support. Unauthorized transaction liability is governed by applicable law and card network rules, subject to timely reporting.

7. Suspension and Termination

VideoBackedMoney may suspend or terminate Card access at any time if required by law, for suspected fraud, safety concerns, or violation of platform terms. Suspension may include freezing funds and disabling card functionality.
